What You Can Expect from the Cloud in the Future

It is no secret that cloud computing has transformed the way that not only people, but businesses run their daily activities. It has given them a way to make these daily activities more efficient, less costly, and much easier to use. Although the cloud is pretty amazing as it sits, programmers are still trying to improve upon it. The following are just a touch of the things that you can expect from the cloud in the future.

In the future you can count on increased innovation because of increased competition in the cloud. Competition is the fuel for innovation; everyone wants to create the newest thing that will take off and make him or her the most money. The new and improved cloud space will give businesses the place to spread their new innovative ideas causing others to feel the need to innovate new ideas products, and services.

Along with increased innovation, there will be a low-power processor chip meaning that clouds will become cheaper in the future. It is said that we are about a year away from the development of new cloud software that will use much less power to run because of the new “low-power chips” used in the software. This will mean that businesses that use cloud computing will be spending less money on cloud software saving them money in the short and long run.

Lastly, one thing you can expect from the cloud in the future is much more application availability. Global Technology said that by 2016, over a quarter of all the applications available will be available through the cloud. That means that almost all of the processes that a company uses will be available through some sort of cloud service making their businesses just that more efficient and that much easier to run.

Cloud computing is the future of information technology. Its possibilities are almost endless. It has so many different applications and the fact that it can always be improved will keep it around for many years. With more availability, more cost efficiency, and improved capabilities creating new innovation, there is no telling what businesses and people in the future are going to use it for.

  1. Cloud computing is something that has always been interesting for me. I am an employee of local government so most of the information we use at my job cannot simply be done on Google Drive, One Drive, or any other loosely secured program. However, for simply sharing documents, scheduling, training presentations (to an extent) we use these cloud information sharing tools along with screen sharing to get the job done! For all computer and internet users, cloud computing is by far one of the biggest things to hit in the future of technology!

    1. I agree with you cloud computing is one of the biggest in technology now and in the future. I've just started to learn about this cloud computing by doing this assignment. There are so many things that i was not aware of regarding cloud computing. It makes me realize that I could have save my files using cloud computing instead of a USB. I lost my whole files last year because my USB was corrupted.

  2. I think it is very interesting that cloud is working well now and programmers are still trying to find ways to improve it because of competition.

    1. There are so many great things about cloud computing that people are not aware of and we live in a society where competitions are everywhere so therefore they have to look for more ways to improve and secure their product from any known or unknown threats. Technologies move so fast that if they don't look for new ways to improve, they can lose their customers to new competition.

  3. cloud computing is good new today but will it be in thousand year later?

    1. Every seconds and every minutes things changes. In a thousand years? All of us won't be there so I have no clue how to answer your question. The world might no longer exist.

    2. A thousand years is a long time to think about. Technology has changed so much in the past couple of years so in a thousand years I can't even imagine what cloud computing will be like.

    3. I imagine that everything will be based on cloud computing by then. And who knows, maybe in thousand years we'll be getting data sent directly to our brains! haha

  4. I've been using google drive for nearly all my personal documents since it debuted 5 years? ago. I love it for its real time interactivity and reliability. However, it is also powerful because developers can write programs that interact with cloud services like Google Drive. For example, scripts can be written to gather information automatically, store that information in a Google spreadsheet and then have that spreadsheet process the information and export it into a word document. What really fascinates me is the newly emerging field of wearable tech as it integrates with the cloud. How long before my doctor has real time access to my current health profile (pulse, calories burned today, steps walked, etc?) Have you guys seen any promising new developments in this area?

    1. Yes I do hear of talks where Apple, Google and Samsung wants to launch platform which enables consumer to relay their information to third party. See link: http://www.zdnet.com/when-our-wearables-talk-with-our-doctors-7000033044/

  5. Do you think in the near future that the traditional way of storing information will be done away with, and everyone and company will use the cloud instead?

    1. Depending on which of the traditional ways of storing information you are referring to. The old ways where we keep all of our papers in the files? When we used floppy disk, CDs as well as USB? Well we already know that paper filing is almost completely eliminated. As for floppy disk, you might not even know what that is. Some of us still used CDs as well as USB but there are other who only used cloud storage. So to some of us, the traditional ways has already been eliminated so I won't be surprise if we all followed.

    2. I think that some people will be stuck in their ways because that's just how some people are. But I do think that once people realize how much easier it is to use cloud computing than the old way, it will spread like wildfire and people will almost be forced to switch to it.

  6. Cloud computing is very easy and efficient for users. Users can automatically back up information to various clouds without even clicking a button by setting up automatic update at the begging of use. With our schedules becoming more and more hectic, we do not have to time to manually back up files and data directly to a hard drive so this cloud service is very useful.

    1. I totally agreed with you especially with the time consuming. Also we all know that people forget to save their files all the time, with cloud computing, it automatically saved for you.

  7. how much longer until everyone is on cloud? is the "old fashion" way of doing things out of the question?

    1. I think that there will always be people that are stuck in their old ways of doing things. But if you really want to reduce costs of your business, you will change to cloud computing.

  9. The amazing thing about cloud computing to me, is the newness of it. This is something that for the most part has completely evolved in my lifetime. Being able to access an abundance of information from anywhere in the world is genius, and with this technology being so new, there will be lots of advancements in cloud computing over the course of the next few years.
